It wa noteworthy thi year that the election was one of the most competitive in the history of Harpur: four parties each with a full slate ran for office -let's hope the best ones won. In their first erne ter of office the U G sponsored the tudent-Faculty Reception, the Turkey Hop and the Mistle– toe Ball. It supervi ed all cia election . An initiation system wa also established for entering Freshmen, including their weanng green and white beanie . Made our Harpur hall rather colorful the fir t few weeks of chool, didn't it? ow as a follow-up to a uccessful but rushed first emester, the UG arranged the pnng Soiree and pring \Xfeekend. It also revi ed the Honor Point ystem, operated the tudent Book Exchange and directed the Campus Chest drive. o wonder their weeki) meeting averaged more than two hour !
