The climatic event which occasioned this remark was the one-hour conference-tea given the group by the First Lady of the land . In addition to their enjoyable visit. to the White House, the boys of the Group al o met hief Justice Hughe and Associate Justices Roberts and Stone of the revered upreme ourt., Hou e of Representatives Speaker Bankhead, nators Vandenburgh and LaFollet.t.e. three Cabinet. members: Mrs . Perkins and the Me rs . Roper and Wallace, as well as numer– ous other public figure , from whom words, enriched by years f con t.ruct.ive public service, fell upon the eager ear of the ten fortunate juniors, cho en on the basis of their records during their first. two year at olgat .
