Ever since its inception on the Colgate ,campus over 20 years ago, Kappa Delta Rho has striven to increase its prominence and pre tige among the University's fraternal groups, and has done so well t.hat it has already attained a position of prime importance. Begun in iiddlebury college in 1905, K . D . R . spread throughout the country and in 1917 Delia chapter was e tablished at Colgate. Already Delta has over 300 alumni and the energy and ambition of new blood have brought it to a point where the members can now point. to their dignified Engli h manor home with prid at the thought. of the high ideals it. harbor . There have been times of t.ruggle and times of achievement but throughout them all the men have followed the fraternity motto "Honor uper Omnia" and have emerged rich in knowledge and spirit.. As we turn our thought to the events of the year just. pa ed, however, many unfor– gettable incidents spring up in our minds- - - Sid Adam , oui' prexy, leading the gang in a German drinking song at a memorable beer party- - - \\ill " tink "~Conn:t.rying"t.o de– cide' hether to chance a blind date at Oneonta or saYe hjs money for vacation--- "Slicker" orts becoming dramatic as a "Roosian" with his "Comrade," the great beaver, Gabe Chiera, who almost did get that hri (mas tree- - - Howie Parkhur t. rushing off to play swing music at orne hot. spot. with the "Maroon Raiders," and Bill Kinsey, ever~alert for a game of chance. Notable among the leader of the campus we had oui' own Grantland Rice in the per on of Bud I'n dorf, writer of the ever popular Sports trolls and director of the Press Bureau. 164
