Having weathered fifteen years experience at Colgate, Gamma Omicron of igma Chi celebrated this year the sixteenth anniversary of its founding as Theta Pi Delta in 1923. Following seven years as a local, Gamma Omicron was installed into the bonds of Sigma Chi fellowship in 1930 as the ninety-first chapter in the national fraternity. A fire in the spring of 1936 partially destroyed the rear portion of the colonial house which the chapter had purchased through the aid of Brother Shoriliffe of the faculty. In 1937 Gamma Omicron acquired an annex adjacent to the chapter house on Pleasant Street, and now t.he bond of fellowship is more closely tied than at any time in the past sixteen years of the chapter's existence on the campus. The year produced many interesting points as far as Sigma Chi was concerned. For one, the "Sigs" ran into a streak of luck in continuing their Jjne of wits in the house. Follow– ing the pace set by Frawley and Hathaway came Larry Jordan. The "Jigger" had the in– side track on the coveted crmvn, and his antics were a show in themselves though often to the discomfort of roommates, Walt "Paderewski" Chapel, the Nelson Eddy of the key– board and "Ot.ts" Pfeiffer. Incidentally, "Otts" was a close rival of Esqu:ire in displaying the latest. in wearing apparel to the brothers throughout the year. Consul Bob Evans unfortunately ran afoul of John Law when a 1.orrisville trafllc cus– todian neglected to overlook the fad that three's a company and four's a crowd. 170
