GFT OFF M'rj "lACK EXCLAIMS RUDY NOLEN, MAT QUARTIERBACK. J BOLSA - LAKEWOOD Balsa won its second straight victory, by defeating the Lakewood Lancer , 31-2. The Lancers are a strong con– tender in the Moore League. They have 18 returning var– sity football letlermen to the squad. They have exper– ienced personnel at every position. However, the Balsa player didn't give up throughout the game. Bolsa com– pletely outclassed the Lancers. Balsa's quarterback, Rudy olen, led the spirited \1atador to the victory, by .scoring three touchdowns and pas ing for another. olen's touchdowns were of 25, 18, and 12 yards . !lis touchdown pass to Eric Berlandier, was good for 60. olen scored twice in the first, and once in the second. Berlandier scored in the third quarter, on the pass by olen. [n the final period of the game fullback, John Persi , scored the 1atadors final touchdown. A twenty-five yard drive et up by quarterback, J. T. Love, halfback, Blaine Anderson and Randy J u lian, gave Pensis the chance to core. Lakewood was put on the scoreboard by halfback, Blaine Anderson of Bolsa, he intercepted a Lancer pass and ran it back to the Matador end zone, giving the Lan– cers a safety good for two points.
