SANTIAGO Senior halfback Lenny Sims, "Mr. Everything," for crosstown rival antiago, led the three year old Cavaliers to their first Garden Grove City Championship handing Bolsa Grande a 6-0 defeat. This was the second straight contest in which the Cavaliers waited Lo score, three minutes were left in the final period. antiago drove to the mid-field, but in the fourth quar– ter this drive was spoiled by the Matador defense. Triple threat ims punted 51 yards to the Bolsa four yard line. Fullback Alex Guerrero, the Matador workhorse, carried his squad out of trouble and put them on the track for the first touchdown of the game. A major penalty ceased the Matador drive on the 43. Two plays later, "Mr. Every– thing," Lenny ims, slanted 43 yards for the only score of the game. Matador quarterback Rudy olen, drove the Mats to the Cavalier 32 with two minute of play left in the game. Kenny Mitchell, Cavalier halfback, intercepted a Matador pas on the antiago one yard line, with five seconds to go. The two most important plays of the contest were: The 1atador defense detaining Sims and Mates, the Cava– lier halting the Matador ground game. TRIPLE THREAT SIMS RUNS THROUGH MAT LINE. 161
