The 1952-53 school yeor opened with " Nevertheless" still No. I on the hit porode... Commissioners were chosen ond the clubs ond commissions were preporing for o season full of fun ond activities. . . Everyone shrieked and cheered at the Pigskin Preview-our introduction to a victorious football saoson... We all looked for buried treasure ot the Spanish Club dance, "Shipmate Shindig"... The Drama Commission presented Oscar Wilde's comedy, "The Importance of Being Earnest," as their foil-term play. . . . The football players' pictures lined the rec center walls ot the annual Grid Clossic... Thanksgiving Day arrived! I~ the midst of flowers and floats and festivities we beot San Mateo 26-21, to win the P.A.L. title... The football players received their just deserts at the awords assembly ... We took a trip with the Junior closs through a haunted house and a delightful class assembly. Basketball season was then under woy.. . Before leaving for a long-awaited Christmas vacation, Ray Hackett's band supplied the music for our Christmas formal, "Snowflake Fantosy"... New Year's resolutions were the talk . . . Students donned "plaster casts ond crutches after the mid-term vacation. The second half of our year's trip began with clean slates for everyone and a newly-elected governing body... "The Big Top" came to B.H.S . through the courtesy of the Student Council. .. Our basketball team walloped San Mateo, coped second place, and our players broke numerous records . .. The Senior assembly went off like a bang and wos considered the best in many years.. . The A.G.S. took us on a trip to the moon via rocket ships at their annual dance . .. The spring term play, on a more serious vein, was entitled "Joan of Lorraine" and proved enjoyable to oil. .. Everyone howled at the Senior-Faculty basketball game... A wide field of occupation was offered us at our second Career Day. .. "April in Paris" was the theme for the long-awaited Junior Prom, and the Parisian atmosphere agreed with everyone who attended... Many entertaining assemblies followed through the spring term... The student leaders were invited to attend the onnual "Who's Who Dinner" under the direction of the Commission of School Affairs.. The Senior Ball arrived at last! .. . With some teary eyes and some starry eyes we came to the end of our school year and graduation. filled with appreciation and devotion to our faculty and to our alma mater, Burlingame! "... do you remember? Then dearie, you 're much older than I!"

Superintendent Thomos Reynolds Deon Victor Mongini Faculty Plays Spinning the records for the many programs which moke up a school yeor were the fifty members of the faculty. Their efforts to provide a varied fare were oided by the very British contributions of our exchange teacher Miss Clodfelter from that "tight little island."
