Dr. StuartS. Phillips, Superintendent of Oakland Public Schools Mr. Barney E. Hilburn Mr. Alan A. LindMly Mr. Melvin J. Caughell Mr. lorento N. Hoopes, President Robert l. Nolan, M.D. Mr. Carl 8. Munck Mrs. Jane McCaffrey The responsibility for administering a complete education is assumed by every high school in Oakland. A complete education involves much more than passing a few examinations through a couple of days of hard study. Education cannot be measured by grades alone. It must be measured by the over-all growth of the student. It is the policyof the schools that every pupil be educated on three levels : scholastic , physical, and moral. Only when attention is given to each of these phases, can a student become a complete well-rounded individual. Education can never be completed. It must extend beyond the relatively few hours the student spends in the classroom. To govern the needs of every student, the adminis– trators approve a well-balanced schedule of recreation and classroom instruction. The best, most thorough education possible, is offered at McCiymonds High School. It is indeed a privilege to say that every student entering McCiymonds can be assured the opportunity to grow scholastically, physically, and morally. 5
