Enduring grueling hours under the hot sun, we pushed ourselves beyond our limit. We tried to create a new look for ourselves physically. This new look began its transformation as we entered the arena of athletics . We learned how to pitch and pole vault, how to tackle and toss . We suffered through countless practices under firm yet caring coaches. However, as we pushed ourselves physically, we had to change our outlook, as well . We developed a deeper drive to win . Our varsity football team rallied themselves after a five game losing streak to contend for the district title and our boy's soccer team prepared to grab a state title . We rejoiced in these victories and continued to strive for more. The new look that had begun on our institution spread to our participation in sports. The time, effort, and patience required was no surprise to any of us, but an athlete could understand the struggle of dealing with the phases of construction like no other. - Kira Scherer Splitting it up: Kendrick Culver divides the defense on the way to the basket. Free falling. Ranya Hahn completes her first dive at the district meet. Heads up. Steve Winsor powers the ball down the field to score another goal. Sports Division • 107
