Rigorous Hours Makes team a shot above the rest Basketball was not only a competitive sport, but also a lot of fun. "This is my first year on the team," said junior Laminka Williams, "I really enjoy it, and I feel sorry that I waited so long to join the team." Other basketball players commented on their decision to play with the team. "I enjoy basketball because I get a chance to play with other people. Playing on a team helps me gain stamina," stated Sophia Foster. Besides having enjoyment in mind the team was blessed with a great deal of talent this past year. "I feel the team shows promise and we're dedicated to playing to the best of our ability," exclaimed Seana Zientek. The team has improved over previous 112 • Sports/Girls' Varsity Basketball years as they progressed with experience. Since the beginning of November, the girls had challenging practices which helped them play as a team. "The most important aspect of the game is practice. Without it, we would not be able to play to our fullest potential as a team," observed Monique Hayes. "I love the sport of basketball, and coaching basketball gives me great pleasure," commented Coach Bonnie Thompson. -Rich Woody I ff
