Better Athletes Key to Good Season The competition was stiff and the fast paced action could not be met by any other sport. The sport was JV Basketball and these young men were ready for the challenge. "We have a better squad this year,'' said Kendrick Culver. This year's JV team had more talent than last year. They were faster, more aggressive, and better with their hands. "We have better ball handlers," agreed Greg Schurig. "Our shooters are sharp and accurate, too," he added. "The team has worked harder this year,'' said second year veteran Kendrick. With practice lasting from an hour to an hour and a half, they practiced to exhaustion. "We work hard and Coach Beam teaches us a lot," said Frederick Stanley. Coach Beam worked these young men to their fullest potential. In return, they gave him their efforts for an unbeatable combination. He taught them new formations, both offensive and defensive. "I like getting them first because they accept all my techniques and ideas with anticipation rather than doubt," said Coach Beam.
