Challenge Taken As Team Hustles To Victory The physical and mental aspects could not have been matched by any other sport. The fast- paced action and quick plays were enough to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. It was the sport of Girls' Junior Varsity Basketball that comprised such action. "I love the mental focus of the game," said Elaine Ho. This year's team had an amazing blend of speed and a strong inside game which made a good combination. "The competition in high school makes life more challenging," said freshman, Vernita Jones. Among the team members, the word "challenging" came up often. Their participation was exactly that, and these girls welcomed the challenge with open arms. They like to run, are not selfish, and play as a team," said Coach Steve Miller. Coach Miller worked his girls to their maximum potential. If they all played their best game and happened to lose, he would not mind the loss. According to Coach Miller, if someone could beat you when you were playing your best, then the other team deserved to win. He believed that each girl was a winner when she played her best.
