Veteran Players Add Dimension to Hopeful Team High expectations and experience were the words that best described this year's soccer season. Being state runners-up was a hard act to follow, but the hard working green devils thought that they could do it. "Our goal is to return to the state "Final Four." I feel that we can do it because last year we were state runners- up and we only lost three seniors," explained senior forward, Luke Langston. The team's strongest point was that they had thirteen returning seniors and that the key to their success was their knowledge of the game. "Most of us play soccer on teams outside of school, too," commented co-captain Brandon Hale . "We're all friends outside of the team, so we work well together," he added. Having a new coach added new dimensions to the team. "Our new coach fits in well with our team. We're used to him because he helped us last year," stated senior co-captain Luis Pizano. Most of the senior players wanted their last year of high school soccer games to be spectacular. They wanted to "Go out with a bang," and to reach this goal, each of them gave their all and worked hard to make the team the best that it could be. -Stephanie Todd Boys' Soccer/Sports • 135
