A Caring Coach Helps the Swim Team Make Waves As the swim season began, Coach Jamie Day expected the team only to "do well." They exceeded his expectations. "The team did better than I originally thought,'' commented Coach Day. Relays seemed to be a strong point for both the boys and girls. "The girls' and boys' teams are sending a relay team to the state competition," explained Coach Day. Although there were many advanced members, there were some new additions to the team. ''The freshmen had good raw talent, which had a tremendous impact on the team," said junior Kelly Chase. "The old members of the team were very helpful and gave a lot of support," said freshman Lindsay Link. The captains were Mike Dawson and Becky Spears. Mike and Becky were great leaders and kept the team united and full of spirit. "The team was really fast this year,'' said Mike Dawson. "We expect to do as well next year, if not better." With the loss of some very important seniors, the team gave their all to maintain the competitive edge. Kelly Chase said, "Coach Day is a great contributor to the team." -Christian Obenshain
