Talented Resources Boys' Tennis Team Aims For The Top The boys' tennis team started off the season with the addition of a new "resource." Student Resource Officer K. Craig Corry became the boys' and girls' tennis teams' coach. "He's very strict, but that helps us because we gain a sense of discipline,'' commented Ben Abinales. The team proved its dedication and discipline by practicing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. "Our practices consisted of playing each other," stated Luke Langston. "By playing each other, we can get a competitive feel for the game and also become better acquainted with the playing styles and strategies of our teammates," he added. Not only did the players practice with their team at school, but they also practiced outside of school, with their individual pros. "Practicing with our pros allows us to improve our own game and work on techniques. Our pros help us learn to play on our specific level, rather than trying to play someone that is more skilled," explained Si Yoo. Many players agreed that Coach Corry's arrival on the tennis court brought a positive outlook on the season. The hard work and ambitious attitudes of both the players and Coach Corry helped to create the dedication necessary for a successful combination. - Stephanie Todd Boys' Tennis/Sports • 143
