Attitude Counts Track Members Show Desire to Compe,te "A good track runner works hard and has a strong mind," commented Marc Moseley. "Basically, a good runner has to have a good attitude." Attitude was the most important element of the SPHS Boys' Track team this year . "Good attitudes are ~ important," stated Head 6 Coach Kenneth Jackson. 1 "I'm also stressing team ~ unity, which I feel is just ~ as important. Tearn unity 0 5: and a good attitude is what will make us winners.'' "I think that we will be a very strong team this year," agreed Brian Herring. "I feel that we will do better than last year because everyone's determination and dedication has increased." "You have to be prepared both physically and mentally," stated Wesley O'Neal. "If you aren't mentally prepared, it doesn't matter how physically prepared you are, you won't run well." Tough workouts made the SPHS Track team a strong force in competition. As individuals, and as part of a team, commitment meant championship attitudes, win or lose. "Each individual must have the desire to compete," admonished Coach Jackson. "The team is made up of many talented people. Win or lose, it is the attitude of these members that makes us winners.
