A New Coach Gives Young Players Incentive Experience was the key to success and while this young team was searching for it, a new coach came onto the scene to add a new light. Ms. Bobbie Jo Bravo, a former SPHS volleyball player and 1986 graduate, began her first year as coach. "I like Coach Bravo and think she does a very good job," said Darla Weaver. While Coach Bravo added a new dimension and incentive, she had to teach the skills she had learned to the young players and sharpen those of the veterans. "I feel the young players have learned a lot from this year,'' said Pamela Hall . For this team, this was a year to grow and learn. "Coach Bravo was very easy on us," said Darla Weaver. Being a coach for the first time, Coach Bravo did not want to be too hard on the girls since most were to return next year. "Next year the team will have great improvements as coach and players gain even more experience," said Pam. "We were glad to be able to work with Coach Bravo this year," said April. "She was an excellent player herself, and she has taught us a great deal. I'm looking forward to working with her next season, as well." -Dan DiRoma Volleyball/Sports • 151
