What is your Favorite part of Devilettes? •••••••••• "I like being able to meet new friends and at the same time, improve my dancing.'' - Michelle White "I love to work with these fantasti– cally talented young ladies. Some days, it's the only thing that keeps me going." -Mrs. Joanne Cheek 198 • Organizations/Devilettes Devilettes Take a Break From Traditional Rules 5, 6, 7, 8! WHat is tHat? Some strange code? An odd locker combination? No. But it was one of tHe most common pHrases for a Devilette. THis year tHere was a cHange on Devilettes tHat cl)~nged one of4he traditions at SPHS. For tHe first time ever, sopHomores were Invited to become a part of the squad through auditions last fall. "At first, I wasn't sure about the sophomores," expressed Sandy Mui, ''but now, I think they add depth to Devilettes." The change benefitted tHe new members as well as the old members. Christine Monk exclaimed, "I feel that everyone benefits from letting sophomores on Devilettes. The squad gains more dancers and it gives underclassmen an opportunity to be a part of Devilettes." All involved<in Devilettes gained something valuable. Not only did they learn confidence and responsibility:; 'but they made friendships that would last a lifetime. "The people on the squad are what I like most about being a Devilette. Everyone puts aside school and comes to practice ready to work together," stated Ashley Biagi. Through the year, Devilettes found the best ways to work together and discovered how to improve their dancing. Laura Klein commented, "This year we really are working hard to make everyone look alike. Devilettes helps its members also t teach them how to perform the dances they learn." The change in Devilettes proved to be one of the best decisions tfie squad made. It help tfie squad to have one of its best years! - Tammy Jayco
