Among their credits was their work to ~~autlfy the '¥~~t courtyard. "Being the only place open for students to hang qut in, ~e felt it needed ~Q;lqok nice,.~qqit would b'; ~ pleasant place to be," said President Jim Mabrey. , Contributing to the school was only a<small part of Civitan's accomplishments. Outside the school, Civitan volunteered at the annual St. Petersburg Grand ~rix, and th~St. Petersburg Beach Fest. "At the Beach Fest, we helped serve food and drinks," reported senior lll.lan Butljar "The Gran Prix was Jots of fun," agreed senior John Picard, ''We ran a game booth." = ®ne of Civitan's big · ~chool projects was the annual Student vs. Faculty Basketball game. This game proved to be fun, as well as profit– making for the club. "There were so many many people there, we made lots of money and enjoyed cheering on the students," explained senior Ken Habgood. And when asked what makes Civitan unique, sponsor Mr. Day replied, "The kids In the club, th activities they do and their sense of humor is al what makes it unique." - Melanie Cordie
