What was your favorite Key club activity? •••••••••• "My favorite club a ctivity is the Ch ris t mas Toy Shop. Helping un– derprivileged chil– dren to have great m emo r ies of Christmas is worth all the work." -Peter Owen "The Christmas Toy Shop and the Haunted House are my favo rites be– cause of the joy I get out of seeing the smiles on the kids' faces." -John Green 244 • Organizations/Key Dedication and Loy{1lty Make the Difference Key, which stands for Kiwanis Educates Youth had been performing service for St. Pete High since 1940. The men in blue and white had long since been known·.for their dedication to service. "Key has been such a strong service club for so long because we are loyal, hard-working and dedicated. We get the job done and we do it right," said junior Matt Partridge. Community involvement was a very big part of the Key dub. "The club is involved in a lot of community work. The Haunted House and the Christmas Toy Shop are our most important projects. They are also our favorite," commented sophomore David Valdez. SPHS benefitted greatly from Key's involvement. "The beautification project was } .. ~\ £ a serious job to the Key members because we take so much pride in SPHS," remarked Matt Larrison. The men of·Key put motivatio~ ~~d meaning in everything they did. "Key tackles every activity with such enthusiasm and energy, because we know how important our community is," commented Steve Koscho. "I love being a member of Key. I am able to interact with people without academic pressures. Key offers a opportunity for students to get involved," said n member David Valdez. "Key is more than a service dub," said Stev Koscho, "It is a way of life. Once you are a member of Key, your lif changes forever.
