FRESHMEN ow look at the fre hmen. Coming up from the eighth grade th y anticipated great event to take place during th ir fir t r al y ar in high hool. The year wa a bundle of fir t for th m. They finally got to join orne of the many club they had heard o much about. orne of them were brave oul and went out for the co eted role a che rleader. Many of them had their fir t date ( ince at Ia t they were old enough), and for the fir t time they could no longer be called tho " illy little eighth grader ." Elated with their new found importance-now they could look down on eighth grader they trolled the hall with miles. They worked their fir t problem in algebra and got their tongue twi ted when they tried to conjugate foreign language verb . They, along with the rest of the cla e , taxed their brain taking "I.Q." te ts and wondered if they would have any left after such trials. A the year drew to a close, the now fully initiated fre hman turned for the fir t of many glance back into that frightening but wonderful year of novelty. No tranger can know what is imprinted on the individual fre hman' r ord of memorie but even a by lander can e that the cia a a whole will look back on the pec– tacular event of high chool living.
