To provid a place for th cultural growth of our it , a muni ipal auditorium wa er ted in 1957. The then rushes co t of thi wa between 900, 00 and 700,000. Mayor B. F. Regi ter was the one to whom the auditorium was dedicated. The Bradley Memorial Library was moved to Bradley Drive in 1950. A beautiful building was built to accommodate thi center of knowledge. The library offer 182,998 books to help u broaden our interests. Columbus High School made its first appearance in Wildwood Park in 1926. ixteen acre of land were set a ide for the school and a urn of 500,000 was pro– vided for the building and equipment. That building till in use and a wing has been added to accommodate the increa ing number of tudents attending the school. AI o, a gymna ium enlarged the school. These additions were completed in 1955. Looking back we see that the Chattahoochee River water contributed the power for our city to grow. The provided the beginning for Columbu . It turbulent river continue its influence by opening newer and broader vi tas for Columbus, its re ident and students. In return the students will soon pilot the industries of our city. onward to
