Hal.fback. Jake was the best passer in the con.ference this year. His passing, punting, and running will be de.finitely missed. Letter winner 4. Center. Danny never made a bad pass .from center; he was also great on de.fense. Letter winner 3-4. Halfback and Quarterback. Lyle turned out to be a very .fine runner this season. He was also a sure tackler. Letter winner 4. End. Although this was Dale's .first year out for football he made a fine account o.f himself. Letter winner 3-4. Tackle. Blanchard was very much improved this year and his great line play will be missed next year. Letter winner 1·2-3-4. Guardo Dick was lost the last half o.f the season; while he did play, he played well. Letter winner 3-4. Tackle. Bud was a very .fine tackle; his speed and aggressiveness will be missed next year. Letter winner 1-2-3-4. Tackle and Guard. He was the fastest man on the sguad and was easily the best lineman in the South-Iowa Cedar League. Letter winner 4. Tackle. Don was a very fine tackle. It was very hard to make any yardage through his poistion. Letter winner 4. End. Ben made some o.f the spectacular catches o.f the season. He was also a very good de.fensive end. Letter winner 3-4. Halfback. Cass was injured .for a good part o.f the season. His play was limited mostly to defensive. Letter winner 1-2-3. Fullback. Macker was the hardest runner on the team. He was also excellent on defense. Letter winner 2-3. End. Bill was one of the best receivers in the con– .ference this season. His defensive play was very good. Letter winner 2. ~arterback. Knuckles was a very .fine ball handler, as well as a good blocker. Letter winner 2. Guard. Don turned out to be a very fine guard. On defense, he was a terrific linebacker. Letter w~er 2. Guard. Curly was small for a lineman, but he made up for size in fight and determination. F.rank was our manager and he did his job well.
