WITH 8-9 RECORD 3 The Cardinal Fall oftball record of 8-9 is a little misleading considering the Comettes played five times against the number one and two rated teams in the state. Three of the other losses went to teams rated in the top 20. Season highlights included a 4-1 loss against Winfield who was rated number one, a sectional victory over an undefeated Hedrick team and a sectional victory over Sigourney who had crushed the Comettes earlier. Then the Comettes won a district contest over Eddyville who was sectional champs. The Comettes will return several letter winners and will be a strong team next season.
