58 Girls Basketball Has Disappointing Season Girls Roundball Scores The Girls Basketball Team got off to a good start this year, but dropped sharply in the second half of the year. Only one Senior was out for the Squad, Susan Abbott. There were four Juniors and six Sophomores to compose the re- mainder of the squad. Transfer student Gerri Wilkerson was a lucky break for the Cards. After only a week with the team she was on the starting five. Deb McCune also did an outstanding job, breaking many of the school scor- ing records . This year head coach Gary Mitchell had an assistant coach, liz Deines. Coach Mitchell is leaving this year and Plainville will lose a great coach. If anyone promoted girls basketball in the school it was coach Mitchell. With all of the returning letter- women, Plainville could possibly make a bid for the league title next year. Just Maybe.
