Hard Work Shines Through BAND OF GOLD The spirit. determination, and drive for winning has become a tradition for the Band of Gold. Life during a band member's season can be very hard. Knowing they sometimes have to get up at 4:00 In the morning, to travel for three hours to a band com– petition, and staying there all day long, can make anyone's stomach cringe. The thought of eating at McDonald's once more and waiting all afternoon In the sun, crosses each member's mind. Although they ex- perience this each year, they still held a positive attitude. The smell of victory was in the air, when the 1992 Marching Band placed first In many of their com– petitions throughout the season. A few of these victories Included: Su– perior Rating at Class of the Blue– grass, and first place finishes for per– cussion at Moore High Invitational and flags at Larue County Invitation– al.
