FFA Takes First Place FFA: The Spirit of Leadership FFA is an organization for students who are enrolled in agricultural ed– ucation courses. The goal for FFA Isto develop agricultural cooperation, citizenship, and leadership. The Car– roll County chapter had 72 members this year. The members taught third graders, entered crops into county and state contests, and for a com– munity service project,they donated 9,000 trees to the community. They also received a first place ribbon on the float they made for the tobacco festival parade. FFA members went on many trips. They went to U.K. for contests , attended many tractor pulls , and even got to go to an an- tlque tractor museum in Frankfort. During the year they competed In job skill contests like welding, land judging, tractor driving, and record keeping . Many of the other activities developed leadership skills, such as public speaking and parliamenta ry procedures .
