Graduation night arrived, and the or– chestra helped to create the solemn atmosphere befitting the occa ion. Throughout the year the concert band, or– chestra, and choruses combined to produce a eries of all-school and specialized a semblie . Each group also par– ticipated in tatewide competition. The Concert Band re– ceived the highe t rating given in Montgomery County competition. Harmony tudent quickly became familiar with chro– matic and diatonic cale a the learned to compo e their own mu ic by combining chords and tempo. The Rolling Stones and Debu y, hardly harmoniou , both found their way into the music appreciation cla e in which student di cu ed the arti tic value of each.
