Leaving the Trick-or-Treat festivities to the kiddies and deciding to let local car owners apply soap to their own windows, teenagers from high schools throughout the area converged upon the Whitman field house for the Halloween Dance. Sponsored by the Rotary Club and Interact, the event attracted hundreds of students with the soul music of Stan– ley Burley and the Dynamics, as well as doughnuts and cider for just a nickel apiece. Would-be pranksters, forsak– ing traditional Halloween activities and double-duty home– work assignments, found the social a satisfactory replace– ment for the Trick-or-Treating of past years. Gyrating tudent responds to the soul sound at the Rotary and Interact- ponsored dance.
