226 FHA, FTA, Plan For Future Vocations Expert architects of foot-high abode , Future Home– maker of America con tructed more than thirty gingerbread hou e on order from the faculty member , and they baked gingerbread men to ell to tudents. Cookies, apron , and other gift po ibilities were old at FHA's annual Chri tmas Bazaar. A a ervice project, the club made chair covers for u e at Whittier Woods Elementary School, and a their contribution to the pring Activities Carnival, FHA pon- ored a food booth. A di play of foreign dolls, and more than twenty kind of cookies carried out the United ations theme at a tea given for the faculty. The members planned pecial activities in honor of their parenf : the "Daddy– Date ight" dinner party and the Mother? Day tea. A regional convention of FHA club attracted the member of Whitman's chapter in the spring. The club' yea~ wa climaxed by a trip to William burg financed by profits from their fund-rai ing activitie . To help a ure succe on final exam , good luck cha_rms made in an FTA after chool workshop were old to anxwus student . On report card day , Future Teacher of America members put apples or red and blue pencil in the faculty mailboxe . FTA member al o ob erved and taught classes in nearby school in two days equences twice during the year, often returning to the same cia in the pring to learn of the progre s of the students. A Peace Corp volun– teer bowing slide of his two year tay in India, and a teacher di cu ing the Catch-Up Program in the elementary chool , introduced unu ual teaching experiences to the pro pective teachers.
