Anticipate Work For out tanding achievement, the ational Future Bu ine Leader of America honored Whitman's chapter with the Gold eal Award. The Maryland organization elected Whit– manite a four of the six stale FBLA officers. Using a proces of elimination in its Spelling Bee, the FBLA e– le ted a winner to compete in the national contest. Halloween pumpkin and Chri tma candy cane upplemented the lunche of Whitman teacher as gifts from the FBLA. More ub tantial food wa collected and aiven to the Glen Echo Bapti t Church for di tribution to a needy family. Sale of popcorn at home sports event and ale of fruitcakes during the Christma ea on made funds available for the Di tributive Education Club' activitie . The club bought new equipment for the conce sion stand and donated one hundred dollars for the majorette ' new uniform . In the pring, DECA member held their annual "Employer· Employee" dinner at Indian pring Country Club in honor of their employer . Gratified with large attendance at its initial meetina, the Medical Career Club began its third year by arranging a varied agenda. In an effort to pre ent the reali tic rather than the glamorou side of the medical profe sion, the club engaged peakers who e topic interested tudents planning career in field from opthamology to veterinary medicine.
