January generated thought of pring and plans for the traditional pring Charity Drive. Mr . Patricia Cohen, a ~peaker ent hy !he Peace Corp , de. cribed the Peace Corps School-to-School Program at a pecial a embly and urged Whitman tudent to participate. The following week Whit– manites contributed l 100 to the program. the larrre t amount ubmitted by any Maryland chool. Although Whitman's contribution wa originally intended to finance the con true– lion of only one chool over ea the GA wa later informed that the lar<•e ize of the contribution made it po ible to divide the money among three con truction project . In El alvador and Brazil two chool were pon ored olely by Whitman. third choo] in Kenya had the joint pon or- hip of Whitman and two other U. . high chool . uctioning the even member of the executive committee at the lave Auction, the GA rai ed nearly 200 to e tab– li h a Whitman cholar hip.
