36 ~~wh ' ere s Charley?" Brings Back Turn Kitty (Lucille Huddle ton) expres es her obligation to object to the pros· pect of an unchaperoned weekend at a boys' college. "Where's Charley?" was the question, and theater-lovers found the answer in Whitman's 1966 spring musical. When his aunt, Donna Lucia d'Alvadores, did not arrive in time to chaperone his college weekend, madcap Charley spent the rest of his time in changing back and forth from his own identity to that of his aunt. aturally, his double identity led to many hilarious and embarrassing encounters during the frenzied struggles of the wicked Mr. Spettigue for the hand of the rich Donna Lucia. With the arrival from Brazil of his real aunt, Charley's con– fused situation grew even more farcical, but finally all the entanglements were unraveled and three happy couples paired. "Of all the gents at Oxford, I get this nut for a roommate !" muses Jack (Paul La aile) , as he regards Charley.
