Undefeated through the first four matches, Whitman's 1966 golf team led the County league during the first half of the season and placed third in the final standings. New '67 golfers were selected for the team when they proved equal to the rigorous 24-hole qualifying test. Players for each match were chosen from the team itself by a series of qualifying matches instituted by Coach George Kohut to insure that the best possible players played in each compe· tition. Coach Kohut also stressed the importance of constant practice, which paid off when the team opened the season with a 7-2 victory over a strong Einstein team. 1966 RECORD WW OPPO ENT 3lj 2 ...........
