Coldwater High School 1969 Yearbook (Coldwater, MI) - Full Access

Soiled saddle shoes are a symbol of our high school days. At first the shoes were clean and shiney, just as we were eager and bright to begin our fresh- man and sophomore years. The soles of the shoes were slippery, and it was easy to fall. One had to be extra careful and to work hard to stay on his feet. The shoes, like us, have covered many miles, each one a milestone of our lives. We have encountered the bad, the challenging, and survived with only scrapes and traces of soil. The soles are wearing thin, and we are nearing the end of this school year. These shoes, even though grubby and well used, will carry us to receive our diplomas and then to meet the real chal- lenges of our lives. 15
