Cl flSS PROPHECY It was June 30, in the year Nineteen Hundred and Sixty. I stopped at WALTER DECKER'S drugstore at 10:00 a.m., located at Mack and Gratiot across from CARL SCHOENRODT Pharmaceutical Company. After having a coke, I step onto the sidewalk and there, on the corner of the block I see a sign saying, "RUDY EDEN'S Gym Open 'till 12:00 p.m." I have to wait quite awhile for a bus and while waiting, I see Sonny trying to teach DOROTHY HELLMAN to drive their car. When the bus comes, I am very surprised to see that GEORGE LOWANDE is the driver. When I finally reached downtown, I meet HARRY MORRISSETT limping out of Aurthur Murray's. He tells me that JACQUELYN ARMATIS is giving ballet lessons Deciding I want something to eat, I cross the street to have lunch at the Hotel Statler, A sign is posted in the restaurant, "BILL CHASE'S Fine Food." I see Clara and she shows me around. I go into the kitchen and there I find RICHARD McLONIS as chef, and his wife SHIRLEY DeFRANCE as dishwasher. I decide that I'm not hungry anyway, so I go out through the front entrance and in the lobqy, I see DOLORES ORO as desk clerk. She info;rms me that the hotel has been completely modernized by RALPH CLEMENT, Interior Decorator. I decide to do some window shoppingand see MARY BEAUDRY andher husband Ronny taking Ronny Jr. and the twins towards the Bob-Lo boat for a cool boat ride. I walk a while longer and see BARBARA BIRJKOVFF and her husband Bruce, co– owners of Powell Studios just leaving the building. All of a sudden, I hear a loud crash and rush to where a crowd is gathering. A few minutes later, an ambulance drives up and DR. JAMES STRELOW and nurse JOYCE WILSON rush to where the patients are lying. No one is hurt very much so I continue my stroll and see ELEANOR DALE and LEONA GRICE coming out of the Avenue. I find out later that they are secretaries to the owner of the theatre. My sweet tooth is bothering me, so I go into Awries Bakery and see GERMAINE AUFTERHAAR waiting on the customers and MEREDITH BUERGE sampling all the pastries. I leave the bakery loaded with cakes and head for the station. On my way I meet TIM GREGORY standing very proudly in front of a factory. He tells me that he is Vice-President in charge of cheese baiting, in the Mouse Trap Factory. He sure looks pleased. Business must be snapping. 24
