I stop at the station and get my ticket for New York. I hear that ROBERT ERB is the engineer, so I hang on for dear life and hold my breath until I reach my des– tination After getting off the train, I decide to see the highlights of New York. I see ROBERT NOTESTINE, now a prominent New York lawyer, and his secretary, DONNA SPRINGER. Robert tells me that business is very good and that Donna is a very efficient secretary. After leaving them, I visit the Art Institute which has as its manager, JAMES KELLEY, and talk to him for awhile. He tells me that ERNEST DYER finally made it to the White House. He can be seen any evening emptying the wastebaskets. I go to my hotel to freshen up a bit before seeing more of this city. Around 8 :00 p.m., I decide to go the Stork Club where THOMAS BLOWER'S band is featured w1th ROLAND WARFIELD on the drums and SHIRLEY ROUSE, vocalist. JESSI BLENDALL and DARYL MARTIN are doing a husband and wife comedy act, and what can be more appropriate, seeing they are husband and wife. Sitting at the next table are MARY HOLMES and her hubby JAMES CUNNINGHAM. They tell me that GARY WODITSCH has a ranch out West and 6 children to help him run it; he also tells me that JOAN DE MOORE and JEAN THOMSON are gym teachers at a University in New York. !leave the Stork Club and take a cab to my hotel. DONALD LAMBERT, the cab– driver, tells me that the circus will be in town the next day, and the main attraction is"BURGHARDT RUPERSBURG'S Beauties,"andMARILYN PARE,"TheFatLady." I feel a jar and find we have a flat tire. Don calls a garage and the mechanic who comes to our rescue is RODGER STEWART, who tows us to the garage that is owned by ALBERT RICHARDS. After the flat is fixed, and I am riding down Broadway, I pass the Roxy Theatre where "Gentlemen Prefer Brunettes" is showing, starring JOYCE STUDER, BARBARA GOOLSBEE, and LUANNE PRAHL. Well, after seeing and touring New York for a week, I leave for St. Clair Shores again. On my way to the station, I pass the New York Journal and the sign on the office is "ROLAND JACOBSON, Editor-in-Chief." At the station, I see MARY VAN DAMME and her husband Jack, buying tickets for a trip to Bermuda for the summer. On the train, I see DONALD VAN DENHEEDE'S picture on an advertisement for Vaseline Hair Tonic--Before and After. 25
