South Lake High School 1950 Yearbook (St. Clair Shores, MI) - Full Access

BASKfTBALL 1950 The ba~ketball season started off much the same way as the football season. The coach was faced with a small and very inexperienced squad, however the team, spearheaded by the very impressive work of Leroy Mawby and John Mank, could be seen to improve steadily as the season progressed . The final game was a decisive victory over Utica who was tied for first place, and the Cavaliers again immerged the spoilers of the League Championship. In the playoff game between Eastland and South Lake, the team hit their stride, and for three and a half quarters the team was invincible. Though they lost the game, we predict they will not lose it next year. The school is very proud of Leroy Mawby who made the Bi - County League Team and John Mank, who made Honorable mention.
