After a win– ning indoor record, Mr. Ryan's men did very well in their outdoor meets includ– ing the all important 6-A meet. The in– door season was especially good with the setting of three new records. Co– Captain Bill Johnston broke the half– mile record. The success of the team was mostly de– pendent on the ten senior lettermen on the team: Co-Captain Mike Jackson and Wolfgang Lugauer in the mile; Bill Johnston and Jim Pierpont in the half; John Cannell, Al McKenzie, and Mike Lillie in the 440; Kirk Jackson and Tom King in the sprints; and Kelley Rea in the hurdles.
