Physical education "The primary aims of the physical education departments are to promote physical fitness, social traits and qualities, and individual sports which can be carried on after graduation. "To gain these objectives the girl's program offers a diversi– fied elective program including: team sports - hockey and speedball; individual sports - golf, badminton, table tennis, bowling and archery; rhythms I - social, folk, square and mod– ern dance; rhythms II - mod– ern dance; Aquatics - begin– ning, intermediate and ad– vanced swimming, synchronized swimming, life saving and water safety; Girls Leader Corps advanced skills and rules in most sports." 29 keeps us fit. "Boys physical education also offers a diversified pro– gram. Sophomores are indoc– trinated in rules, regulations, and skills in flag-tackle football, soccer, speedball, cross-country, volleyball, basketball, gymnas– tics, wrestling, track and soft– ball. Juniors and seniors de– velop a further refinement of those events. Swimming is an elective in the junior and senior years. Intramural and varsity sports are offered for the highly skilled. "These programs facilitate the optimum growth and de– velopment of each individual."
