Fall behold the autumn glow above the head in midas colors - of bronze and smoke decaying golds soon to be beneath the feet - sodden sere and ill-kempt comforters of the earth. soggy damp autumnal rains start home-fires burning, slow glowering coals from chunks of oak and timber-tree, cherry eucalyptus maple - sweet-smelling sweet- burning woods. add to the fires brushwood and watch in the flames and savor the warmth and contentment inside home. o thankful gathering-time harvest ye up the fruits of spring and summertime labors from the orchards and the grains of the fields. indian summer days shortening to somber sullen skies casted in puritanical drab - dark cold winds vigorous and briskly invigorating cutting with a razor edge. old gold chrysanthemum-time. 34
