Assemblies are not only Mr. Lou Hollway receives a varsity blanket at the fall honors assembly. A variety of unusual, entertaining, and thought-provoking assemblies are pre– sented to Ann Arbor High School stu– dents each year under the direction of Mr. Ronald Dawson and the Student Council Assembly Committee. These assemblies concern topics of interest to our High School, and those of national and international importance. The ma– jor function of an assembly is instruc– tion, but those presented at Ann Arbor High are also planned on an entertain– ment and interest basis. There were numerous and varied subjects among the assemblies this year, two of which were films with ac– companying narrations. Such an assem– bly was a voyage around the world on the ''Yankee Clipper" with magnificent films and her talkative cook. Outer space travel was explained and illustrated. 54
