celebrated by gala festivities. TOYLAND BALL and NEW YEAR'S EVE The Toyland Ball was held December 2 in the recreation room. The dance was held for the purpose of gathering toys for children in the Ann Arbor area so that their Christmases could be brighter. Each couple was charged the ad– mission of two toys. The plan proved highly successful as in past years. The Ann Arbor High School radio station, WPBS, played uninterrupted music for the dance. The New Year's Eve ball was an unforgettable event. The ballroom was decorated in the theme ''Through The Looking-Glass." This theme was chosen for its originality and its possibilities. The ball was held from nine to one o'clock in the Michigan Union. Girls in the various classes were sent invitations and were asked to invite a date. The Royal Lancers provided the music, a great deal of which was conducive to the twist! Refreshments included punch and cookies. ( Girls, are you a wall flower, do you feel blue?
