Ann Arbor High School 1962 Yearbook (Ann Arbor, MI) - Full Access
MUNA promotes understanding. Peggy Wallner points out to Mark Adams and Kelly Rea the country they represented this year. So you think you've got problems! How would you like to grapple with the problems of the world as well? That's exactly what delegates to the Model United Na– tions Assembly at Hillsdale College did. More than 70 hjgh schools from all over Michigan and parts of Ohio and Indiana sent representatives to the assembly. Every delegation from each school represented a country. The assembly was held on March 16 and 17 at Hillsdale. In past years Ann Arbor High delegations have been strong members of MUNA. In 1961, for example, the President and Secretary of the Assembly were both from Ann Arbor High's delegation. Two of the five pro– posals that were passed were written by Ann Arbor delegates. This year, also, our delegation played a prom– inent role in the settlement of many issues. Mark Adams was chairman of Ann Arbor High's dele– gation this year. Other Seniors were Kelley Rea, M ary Colvin, and Peggy Wallner; also delegates were John Albrecht, Sarah Straub, and Chuck Wilkins, Juniors; and Pat Fogarty, a sophomore. The faculty advisor was Mr. Milo White. Ann Arbor High represented two countries this year: Cambodia, and Dahomey, a small country in western Africa and formerly a French colony. 96 Delegates, Kelly Rea; Pat – Fogarty; Mark Adams; John Albrecht; Chuck Wilkins; and Peggy Wallner, study agenda with Mr. Milo White.
