Frank Cody High School 1968 Yearbook (Detroit, MI) - Full Access
Miss Kay Morrissey, coach of the girls' field hockey team, should be very proud of her varsity squad this year. Six matches were scheduled for this year, 4 home and 2 away. The girls finished the season with a total of 4 wins, 0 losses, and 1 tie. Sally Chaney, a three-year veteran and captain of the varsity squad, has spent many long hours help– ing her team develop various skills and techniques. They were put to good use in all the games. A game against Ford was the most challenging. There were chances at goals, but the score ended with a tie. How– ever, when the girls met the undefeated Redford Hus– kies, they downed them, 3-1. Connie Bilicki, Sandy Goga and Irene Majcher, all of the varsity squad, were responsible for the goals scored all season. The reserve team worked just as hard but wasn't as successful as the varsity. Cynthia Carrigan, reserve captain, brought her team to 0 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties. Miss Morrisey hopes to have just as great a season next year, although many of her players on both squads will be leaving.
