Variety of Math Courses Mr. Vito Gioia explains a homework problem to his students while they listen attentil·ely. Mathematics is one of the most useful and intrigu– ing branches of human knowledge. It includes many different facets. We use mathematics daily, even in such. simple ways as telling time and counting change received from a purchase. Cody High School offers a variety of courses in the field of mathematics. This enables students to choose courses according to their abilities and prefer– ences. Courses vary from pre-algebra, which is basic mathematics to pre-calculus which is taken in one's senior year. The Math Clinic is open to all students who are having some difficulty with a specific problem or topic. They may arrange to meet their own teachers or receive help from other teachers who are in the Math Clinic. The new teachers in the Math Department this year are; Mr. Carlos Wilhite, Mr. William Marrs and Mr. Donald Ashby. Much of our knowledge comes from listening. These students tum their attention to t!teir teacher's explanation. Sandra Chudyk receives help from Mr. Carlos Wilhite in the Math Clinic which is open to students having problems. 2 2..
