Friday, October 13, proved to be one of the most exciting days of the 1967 school year as it was the first Homecoming in seven years. After an unsuccessful football game against Mackenzie High School, Cody students man– aged to overlook this defeat and enjoy them– selves at the dance. The dance was held at 8:00 in the Cody gymnasium decorated with the colors green and white. Entertainment was pro– vided by the Ultrasonics. The excitement of the evening reached its peak with the announcement of the Queen, the choice of the seniors who were polled at the dance. Cody's exchange student, Elsa Chacon was crowned Homecoming Queen. Her court was Duane Bergen, Sandy Rousseau, Pam Drallos, and Pat Donohue. Elsa was presented with a dozen long stem roses. The Homecoming was sponsored by Student Council. Barbara Kordich was the committee chairman and she had Allen Hare, Nancy Rosenau and Linda Snitgen helping her. Kim Christopher was the head of the decorating committee. Pam Barlett handled refreshments while Kris Adams took care of publicity, and Gary Nicholls managed tickets. Dave Domzel e.fcorted Barbara Kordich, Homecoming Dance chairman, to the eve/11. Barb seemed to have an enjoyable time after all her pains-taking effort and time pill into the planning of the actil•i– ties. When Barbara isn't planning special events, she serves as recording secretary for the Student Council. 47
