Guests of the American Youth Hostelers Club in– dulge in their favorite winter sport, snow skiing, 011 a p/easa11t afternoon. After a lo11g enjoyable weekend of skii11g 011 the snow-covered slopes, Ameri– can Youth Hosteler members get ready to go home. An active group, with outside activities, is the American Youth Hostelers. This club is one of many which have chapters in other Detroit and surrounding high schools. This club at Cody is spon– sored by Miss Patricia Altpeter, and centers itself around the beau– ties of the outdoor wild life. American Youth Hostelers' active members find themselves many weekends during the school year at resorts in our beautiful state enjoying wonderful days of skiing and singing songs around the fire. The main purpose of the active club is to help people gain a better understanding of the world and its people through outdoor activities. Events such as canoeing, horseback riding and skiing, the favorite of all the members, make up the club's calendar of activities. The officers of this past year include Ruth Fifelski, acting as president; Glen Hartley, as vice-president, and Candy Bush, as treasurer. The Outdoors Calls Them 66 Carol Danboise, an active member of the American Youth Hostelers, enjoys an afternoon of skiing on the slopes near Blue Lake.
