Bandarama Brightens Winter Days To the delight of the audience, the Cody Band presented Bandarama. The theme, "Stage, Screen, and Music" took the audience on a tour of various aspects of the entertainment world. The Band, directed by Mr. Joseph Poniatowski, performed "The Fantasticks Over– ture," taken from the Broadway hit of the same name, and "Berceuse and Finale," from the ballet "The Fire– bird." The Band played "Nmih's Ark (Procession of the Animals)" and a selection from the movie "The Bible," and served as an accompaniment for Kathy Rasmussen, who sang a vocal solo from the movie "Inside Daisy Clover," entitled "You' re Gonna Hear From Me." A classical selection, "March from Symphony No. 2," and a contempory piece, "Praeludium," offered a unique change of pace as the band closed its portion of the program. The Combo opened the second half of Bandarama with "Goin' Out of My Head," featuring the Younger Set, made up of four majorettes and their partners; and a vocal solo by Kathy Rasmussen. The Younger Set also danced to "Zorba the Greek." This tune was made popular by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. Kathy Rasmussen, accompanied by the combo and Beth Puh– akka on the piano, sang "Girl Talk." The Combo also performed "The Shadow of Your Smile," from the movie "The Sandpiper," "A Man and A Woman," featuring Mary Ann Kirkish on the vibraphone, and "Just Fine." The program drew to a close as the Cody March– ing Band and Majorettes entertained with "A Man and A Woman," "Windy," and the "Cody Hymn." 84 As members of the Younger Set, Chuck Boman and Kathy Blil't'fl practice long hours to get their dance steps perfect.
