Girl's Track Had a Good First Year. The girl' · track team participated in many meets throughout the ea on including the district and regional meet . Two relay team and a high jumper competed in the regional meet at Hibbing. The relay team were the 440 yard relay team con i ting of: Carla Hamaan, Sonia Matt on, Kim orden trom, and Kay Randall, and the 8 0 yard relay which con i ted of Jayne rick on, Heidi Hilton, Jo nn Schmidt and Sue etterqui t. athy Thomp on placed fir t in the high jump event at the di trict 25 and 26 meet to qualify for the tate meet. The team compiled a core of 14-1 / 3 to take sixth place in the di trict . The girls worked hard and had a ucce ful fir t season under the coaching of Mi Stangland . Our first Girls Track Team .
